In the first part of the Gokarna Diaries, I shared a glimpse of the City and it’s people. In this part, I will be giving you a glimpse of the laidback yet colorful side of the town
SHIVA’S CHARIOT
Every year, during the festival of Maha Shivaratri, a Rath Yatra is taken out by the Gokarna Mahabaleshwar Temple Committee, which is attended by devotees from all across India. Interestingly enough, the street where this procession takes place and where these chariots are currently “parked” is called CAR STREET!!

BEACHES & HORIZON
How can I talk about Gokarna and not post some beautiful landscape shots…here are some of the good ones while trekking around the beaches.
This one was taken from SHANTIDHAM Cafe. While sipping my coffee and having meals, I could easily spot some DOLPHINS in the sea.
