Goa: the land of sun, sand and beaches. I have been lucky enough to call this place home for the last 4 years. During these years, I have explored many popular and offbeat locations across this beautiful state. Due to its popularity as a party capital and the hordes of tourists, domestic and international, which come here every year, it’s hard to imagine if there are any hidden gems left to explore. But, Goa never ceases to amaze and surprise those with the wandering heart.

There are many untouched locations which have not turned into a tourist trap like Baga, Arambol or even Dudhsagar. One such place is COLA BEACH, and hopefully it will remain a hidden treasure in the years to come.
SERENE AND PRISTINE COLA BEACH
Cola is situated in the southern part of the state, more than 60 kms away from Panjim and more than 30 kms away from Margao. Lack of proper road connectivity and commercialization makes it an ideal location for travellers who are looking for peace and solitude.

It won’t be an exaggeration to call this place a paradise, which it truly is! The property where I stayed had a strict “Peace Policy”. So, this is certainly not a place for the party animals.
There is a narrow dirt road and some rocky terrain which connects it to the main road. Surrounded by cliffs from three sides, it is one of the most beautiful and cleanest beaches in Goa.

A serene lagoon right next to the beach adds to the beauty of this place. One can even try canoeing in the lagoon, which costs around Rs. 300 or so. Don’t worry if you don’t know how to ride a canoe. It’s quite simple and you will get the hang of it in just a few minutes [saying from experience].
Here is a quick glimpse of this untouched paradise which might inspire you to plan your next holiday in Goa away from all the chaos and crowd:
