Morning Scenes at Panjim Fish Market

“YE KYA MACHCHI BAZAAR BANA RAKHA HAI?”
(Konkani: Hea Nustecho bazaar kitem? )

Most of us have heard this phrase at some point in our lives either from our teachers or our parents. Fish markets are synonymous with loud noises and chaos. People shouting, horns honking and customers haggling. This little street of Panjim comes to life every day at 5 in the morning and gets relatively calmer by 8 am.

Making your way through a busy market can be quite an overwhelming experience. But it is also one of most interesting places to capture some raw human moments. Well, I tried to do the same in this photo story featuring Panjim’s Fish Market.
Have a look!

Here is a short video as well..

Not just the fish market, the nearby vegetable market at Old GMC Building also comes to life and prepares for a busy day.
